Christian Traumann, group president of Multivac, has been elected to the Presidium of the German Institute for Standardization (DIN). He will represent the packaging technology sector for his period in office from 2021 to 2026.
The German Institute for Standardization (DIN) is the independent platform for standards and standardization in Germany. As a partner for industry, research and society, the DIN makes a major contribution through standardization to supporting the market feasibility of innovative solutions - whether it is in the area of industrial, commercial and social digitalization, or within the framework of research and development projects. The DIN Presidium establishes the principles of standardization policy. It makes decisions, either directly or through its committees, on the business and financial policy of the DIN and its associated organizations.

Several lifetimes ago, your author was the first person in his small town to install a good set of subwoofers, plunking them in the hatchback area of a rusting Ford. Aftermarket stereos had been around for ages, of course, but banging woofers? Not so much. All hands quickly followed suit, one-upping each other and generally infuriating the communityâs rapidly aging populace.
Back then, it was easy to source an aftermarket head unit because all cars had either a DIN or Double DIN sized hole in the dash. Todayâs interior styling choices have put a knee in the groin of this accessory segment but there are still a few machines into which one can swap a good receiver.

January 11, 2021 Radiation oncology quality-assurance technology developer Sun Nuclear has announced that its SunCheck quality management platform has netted more than 1,000 users in almost 60 countries.
SunCheck automates quality management for radiation therapy departments in order to standardize quality assurance workflows. Sun Nuclear is on its latest version of the software, version 3.1, which includes more than 50 feature enhancements.
The new enhancements in version 3.1 include Monte Carlo-based secondary dose calculation for Accuray s Radixact and TomoTherapy therapy plans created with a precision treatment planning system. The version also features expanded custom task and reporting functionality for machine quality assurance.
