German firms more confident about doing business in Britain Brexit has caused less disruption than feared and German companies are looking at the UK to do business, according to a top lobbyist 21 April 2021 • 4:13pm A top German business lobbyist has said that firms in his country are lining up to invest in Britain after Brexit sparked less disruption than feared. Ulrich Hoppe, director-general of the German-British Chamber of Industry & Commerce, said that many firms previously planning to relocate staff had now abandoned their plans to do so. A survey of 117 businesses by the chamber found that 20pc were planning to shift some business activities abroad due to Brexit - down from 70pc last autumn.
