Writer-director Olte disclosed to Cineuropa some further details about her project: âAnastasiaâs story is about the search for oneâs identity, about the possibility of disrupting the scenario that life has predetermined for us. Based on a true story, I want to follow a 13-year-old girlâs search for her roots, her struggle for attention, love and care from her mother. The rules of social survival in an orphanage are tough, and everyone has to fight for their individuality. My film will reflect the social reality of an undermined group in contemporary Latvia.
