Daniel Gerard Silich, 42, was arrested by Michigan State Police Wednesday in a hit-and-run April 5 resulting in the death of Landen Risner, 13, and injuries to his brother and sister.
The Hackman Road resident was taken from his home north of Sturgis and booked into the Branch County jail on charges of second-degree murder, under a $500,000 bond.
Charges come after a month-long investigation that authorities said shows evidence Silich was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox when he swerved northbound off Ralston Road and hit three of four children riding their bikes.
Landen suffered head injuries and was airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He died six days later, while in a coma.
