As state and local governments have shifted to remote work setups over the course of the coronavirus pandemic, they have used cloud-based collaboration tools and videoconferencing platforms for a variety of tasks. That includes everything from court proceedings to simple meetings within IT teams.
Such remote work tools can also aid state and local agencies with a vital task in the months and years ahead: recruitment and retention of workers, including IT professionals.
The March 22 episode of
NCIS: New Orleans, “Biased,” featured a white officer shooting an unarmed African American man, and boy, was it a doozy.
The action begins right off the bat, when NOPD Officer Ted Bradley is in pursuit of a burglar, Gerald Young, when he follows Young to a party attended exclusively by African Americans. Petty Officer Third Class Ali Mitchell is there, who Bradley thinks is holding a gun (it’s later revealed to be a phone), and Bradley shoots and kills him. The city is in an uproar, as NCIS Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team help with the investigation into if Bradley’s shooting was justified.

Welcome back to our look back at the 1989 Cubs. I’ve told you from the start that the 1989 season was not one that featured a straight line to the top. I’ve prepared you for ups and downs. In part six of our series, the Cubs suffered some injuries and dropped all five games in the week. They righted the ship though and in part seven, we saw that they won the first five games of the week before dropping the sixth to end the week.
All of the ups and downs had them yo-yoing between first and fourth place before settling into a tie for second at the end of the week, just half a game out of first. As we turn our attention to week eight of the season, we find the Cubs halfway through a two-city, six-game trip. They started out nicely winning two of three in Cincinnati.
