You can see San Jose Police attempting to surround a large number of protesters who stuck around after tonights event at the San Jose Convention center after it let out. Police announced by helicopter to disperse, calling it an unlawful assembly. San jose police tell us they arrested a few people and one officer was assaulted. Reporter for at least 45 minutes tonight there was complete chaos in downtown san jose as the trump rally was ending skirmishes between protesters and Trump Supporters took place right in the streets. We saw several fights. And at one point mobs of protesters just started beating up Trump Supporters as they were exiting the rally. We saw people getting punched in the face, people getting sucker punched. Couples getting harassed as they were walking out. At one point protesters even stormed the garage and started hitting cars as they were trying to leave the convention center. Now, the police were here on hand the entire time, but they never seemed to intervene as people were getting beaten up. It seems they were trying to hold the perimeter. The scene. Reporter theres still crime tape up at the scene and Police Officers protecting the evidence inside the home. Not much left of the couples home. Police say they tried to get the man to come out of it. They even brought his parents to the scene to try to talk to him but he refused, and they found him dead inside. The residence of the home that burned overnight. This is all thats left of their home and, they told us, their dog died if the fire. Police say the man who holed up in their house chose it randomly. The couple was not there at the time but worked with police throughout the night. We were in constant communication with the homeowner and made direct contact with them. Reporter Fremont Police say they believe the man who hid in this home shot two officers yesterday afternoon. Both officers are in the hospital, one in Critical Condition. 44yearold Gerald Villabrille jr. Called 911 wanting to negotiate after police fired tear gas into the russellville house he had broken into and barricaded himself into. Initially he said he had a hostage. We evaluated that information. We determined it was not true. It all began 1 30 in the afternoon when investigators say a Fremont Police officer pulled over a stolen truck that villabrille was driving. Theyym say he rammed the truck into the patrol car and started shooting. Our first officer was critically injured. The suspect took off running and investigators say he shot a second fremontjov Police Office before barricading himself inside the house. It was a crazy night, a crazy night. This man was locked inside his business a few doors down. He took photos of the standoff that lasted 15 hours. Some concussion grenades, tear gas going off, our dogs were google crazy.
