BBC News By Gurvinder Gill image copyrightGetty Images Clubbing is back. On 19 June 2021, from 00:01, clubs were able to re-open after more than year closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Young shielders: Covid vaccine is a ticket back to normal

BBC News By Annabel Rackham image copyrightAnnabel Rackham I was out walking my dog last March when I received a text telling me I was clinically vulnerable and needed to start shielding immediately. Being totally honest, I burst into tears when I saw it - knowing I wouldn t be able to go out for a walk or a run, or even go to the supermarket. I ve had an auto-immune disease since the age of ten and take immunosuppressants, which have controlled it really well and let me lead a relatively normal life. But one thing I ve always struggled with is my weakened immune system. Before lockdown I d get common colds that would knock me out for weeks and constantly need antibiotics for various infections I pick up.
