WWII Heritage Days Returns in October 2021, Honoring Rosie the Riveters

PRESS RELEASE – Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Georgia is dedicating World War II Heritage Days 2021 in honor of all Rosie the Riveters, American women who worked in the military equipment factories during WWII. The new one-day event on Oct. 9, 2021, is the Airbase’s 17th annual open house and fundraising event at Atlanta Regional Airport – Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Ga.
Activities for the day include warbird rides, military vehicles on display, food trucks, a PX and living history displays and presentations. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the CAF Airbase Georgia headquarters, 1200 Echo Ct., Peachtree City, Ga. The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Dixie Wing announced its official recognition as and transition to CAF Airbase Georgia, effective Feb 18, 2021.
The group has achieved the designation of Airbase within the organization as a result of growth and awarded accomplishments over the last 35 years.
“We are one of the largest, most active, and successful units in the CAF,” said Airbase Leader Jim Buckley. “With over 350 members, multiple award-winning aircraft restorations, a maintenance and machine workshop, continuous growth and financial stability all of which led to this milestone. We are excited and proud to be honored with an Airbase designation.”
