Flores, Jones Earn All-ACC Honors
THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis seniors Kenya Jones and Victoria Flores collected 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference all-conference honors as announced by the league office on Thursday. Jones was named to the first team, while Flores earned second-team recognition. The honors were determined by a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Boasting a 17-8 overall singles record, Jones has led the Yellow Jackets from the No. 1 position all season long. She is 16-7 in dual play at the top spot and went 9-2 against league opponents. Currently ranked No. 5 nationally in singles, Jones has spent the entire season ranked in the top 15, climbing as high as No. 2 on March 30. This marks Jones’ third All-ACC honor, having been named to the first team in 2019 and second team in 2018.

Yet, it was not due to Dana Evans that the Cardinals could not retain the No. 1 crown.
The reigning ACC Player of the Year, Evans poured in a season- and career-high-tying 29 points against the Wolfpack. She followed that up with two more fantastic efforts: 23 points and five assists in a 97-68 domination of Boston College and 27 points and five assists in a tight 71-65 win over Notre Dame.
Jain Clinches 4-3 Win Over No. 14 South Carolina
THE FLATS – Freshman Mahak Jain clinched the deciding match for No. 12 Georgia Tech women’s tennis on Saturday afternoon as the Yellow Jackets opened the ITA Kickoff Weekend with a 4-3 win over No. 14 South Carolina. All eyes turned to court six where the freshman battled to a three-set win, pushing Tech to 2-0 on the season.
DOUBLES ACTION – Wins on courts one and two put the Yellow Jackets up 1-0 following doubles play. Gia Cohen and Carol Lee gave Tech the edge in doubles, wrapping up first on court two. The pair won an early break to take a 2-0 lead and never looked back, securing a 6-3 win over Allie Gretkowski and Emma Shelton. Jackets Roll Past Tigers, 67-55
CLEMSON, S.C. – Behind four Yellow Jackets in double-figures, Georgia Tech rolled past Clemson Thursday night in Littlejohn Coliseum, 67-55. Lotta-Maj Lahtinen scored a team-high 15 points, while Lorela Cubaj finished with her 13th career double-double.
Tech (5-3, 3-2 ACC) led by as many as 22 points in the final quarter after trailing by nine points in the opening frame. Cubaj recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and a career-high 20 rebounds, becoming the first Yellow Jacket since 1996 to secure 20-plus rebounds in a game. Cubaj finished the game with five blocks, two assists and two steals. Kierra Fletcher followed with 13 points, while Eylia Love contributed a season-high 12 points.
