Rick Bellows, longtime resident of Gainesville, GA, passed away on May 27, 2022. Rick grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN, son of the late Dick and Jackie (Dols) Bellows. He graduated from DLHS in 1971, Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, in 1975, and University of Georgia Law School in Athens, GA, in 1992. He loved soccer and officiated games from Minnesota to Georgia. He was very involved in his sons’ soccer and Improv endeavors as they were growing up. He had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s several years ago, so his death was bittersweet; while the family is heartbroken, we take solace in knowing that he is no longer suffering and that he was still able to recognize us in the days before he passed. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Tim (Abby) and son Christopher all of GA. If you wish to honor Rick’s memory, when you get the chance, hug your family, read a good book, drink a cold beer, make a corny joke, and spend some time out in nature wherever in the world you might be.
