A strong low pressure system will bring valley rain and heavy mountain snow tonight to western Montana. Very difficult travel is expected over Lost Trail, Homestake and MacDonald Passes.
Wintry weather is expected for most of southwest Montana today and tomorrow as a major spring storm blasts through the state. Winter weather alerts are in place for much of the higher terrain.
Another famous Montana spring storm is headed our way, and higher elevations are going to get more than a foot of heavy, wet snow. Winter Storm Watches and Advisories are in effect for over a dozen counties in southwest Montana.
