More than 60 public health officials sent a letter to the state’s top officials Tuesday, urging the state to extend coronavirus-related relief to New Jersey’s half-million undocumented residents and their family members.
The state’s 500,000 undocumented residents “have been left behind by nearly all government aid during the pandemic,” the letter says. The officials who signed the letter include Dr. Poonam Alaigh, Commissioner of Health under former Gov. Chris Christie, and Dr. George T. DiFerdinando, Acting Commissioner of Health under former Gov.
