and killed. paul wagner is here with more. reporter: frankie rivas just finished distributing the flyers advertising pizza specials and was waiting for a ride when a gunman walked up and shot him in the head. nothing was taken and, at this hour, investigators say the case is wide open. frankie rivas was a baby in the family of five, described by the older brother as a free spirit. it took a beautiful person to not just because he s my brother, everybody that he said i had to could just feel the energy that he was a great, beautiful person. reporter: at midday today, the d.c. police were gathering information trying to learn what they could about frankie and sharing what they could with the family. they say it s attempted because pretty much everything was on him.
