They had much in common. They were both joyful, humorous, generous individuals who loved to talk to people and made sure to keep in touch with family and friends, favoring phone calls and in-person conversations over texting.
Marian Ann Williams-Franklin and her son, Troy Franklin, both from Detroit, died eight days apart of COVID-19 complications.
Marian, 78, was born and raised in Tennessee. She attended Tennessee State University, where she met and later married her husband, Harry Gump Franklin. They would have celebrated 56 years of marriage last month.
