High Street: Progress made on town centre pedestrianisation | Harwich and Manningtree Standard

Work resumed last month after Braintree Council appointed a new contractor to complete the pedestrianisation scheme. As a result new paving has now been laid along the main High Street. Over the Bank Holiday, resin has also been applied which completes a section of the High Street from Natural Way all the way up to the lower end of Bank Street outside George Yard Shopping Centre. Work continued over the Bank Holiday weekend The work will see Market Place, Great Square and the High Street transformed into a new public space with one-level paving, street furniture, CCTV, Wi-Fi hotspots, trees and new seating areas.
