Weir Group has managed to maintain operating profits and margins, with around £40m of cost savings offsetting the impact of Covid-19 on market activity.
The Glasgow-headquartered engineering company s results for the year ended 31 December showed that iron ore production fell by an estimated 15% in the second quarter, while there was a significant decline in the infrastructure market demand due to construction shutdowns.
