Rosenwald schools across the South used his teachings, and northwest Louisiana became home to one of the nation's most extraordinary distributions of Rosenwald schools. He helped countless poor farmers in the United States begin and participate in farmers' unions. And Carver mentored a young Shreveport man named Luther Jones.
