And id like to start with april 12, 1963, and then id like to walk us up through some events that will bring us to the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It was april 12, 1963, that dr. King was arrested in birmingham, alabama. He was there to work with others, to integrate a city that was deeply segregated.
