We dont know if he was the youngest because we do not know his exact birthday. There was a signer rutledge, and they know, but they cannot claim he was the youngest because we do not know when george was born. He was born in a period between 1749 and 1750. His father had made provisions for his education. His father died very close to his birth and his mother died when he was seven years old. He was taken in to the family of his aunt and uncle.
