Bluff City Exceeds Fund Raising Goal for Digital Baby Grand Hannibal’s professional theater company called for help, and, as it so often does, the community stepped up. Bluff City Theater recently announced an adjustment in its 2021 performance schedule. Instead of a full slate of stage productions, the theater this summer will host a series of what Director Joe Anderson describes as cabaret style shows. This requires an upgrade from the well worn piano presently owned by the theater. A couple of weeks ago, Anderson set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for a new digital baby grand for the theater.

Let’s face it, looking at an on-line picture from an art gallery is just not the same as seeing it in person. Live shows just don’t have the same flair when they’re streamed instead of performed before an actual audience. Get our free mobile app Bluff City Theater is celebrating its return with a free outdoor performance. The group is putting on two shows, opening May 12 at band stage in Hannibal’s Central Park. The production is of Leonard Nimoy’s “Vincent,” starring Drew Pannebecker in the title role. Though it’s a free show, seating is limited at each performance to 120 audience members.
