Fostering Sustainable Development and Equality through Combating Illicit Financial Flows in Africa Details / Hits: 58
The effects of IFFs are particularly devastating for developing countries since they increasingly undermine international efforts to promote sustainable development. AFRODAD as a think tank estimates that developing countries and emerging economies lose more money through IFFs than they receive in foreign direct investment and official development aid (ODA) combined. IFFs therefore prevent urgently needed investments in health, education and other public services.
To curtail the continued linkages of finances from Africa which are being compounded by the current devastating effects of the COVID 19 Pandemic, AFRODAD has made considerable progress in the implementation of the Resource Governance and Fighting Inequality in Southern Africa project funded by the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA).
