Six months after announcing her intention not to contest the upcoming local elections, sitting Labour councillor Maura Bell has not ruled out a sensational U-turn and another run in the Wexford Borough District, albeit away from the party she currently represents.
Despite indications from the former Chief Executive that the removal of hundreds of tonnes of silt from Crescent Quay was “not a top priority” for Wexford County Council, the project remains listed in the local authority’s three-year capital programme.
A problem that costs Wexford County Council €3.3 million per year, elected members were last week presented with a draft of the local authority’s latest litter management plan which will stretch into 2027.
