The recent rapid increase in juvenile cases of grand larceny, assault and now a death in New Britain of a jogger, reportedly struck by a vehicle driven by a juvenile defendant with a long record, points to Connecticut s misguided policies pertaining to juvenile crime. These young people are culpable for their criminal activities. Apologists state that they are just bored teens without any direction. Their new direction is becoming hard-core criminals that terrorize our residents and businesses daily. They need to be treated to a stay in Somers for punishment, not given a slap on the wrist. The situation needs immediate attention.
