The Cascade Symphony Orchestra will present “Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto,” its sixth and final virtual concert of the 2020-21 season, on Monday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. This online music program, as has been the case for all previous CSO musicales this season, is presented free of charge through the generosity of orchestra donors and patrons.
Because all in-person concerts for the season were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the symphony has produced five online shows – including one for children.
Classical KING FM (98.1) personality Dave Beck will open the May 3 CSO virtual program conversing with Cascade Symphony music director Michael Miropolsky. That will be followed by music for the season.
SOUTH COVENTRYÂ â The Chester County Intermediate Unit has been chosen as the agency to replace retiring Owen J. Roberts Superintendent Susan Lloyd for what may be the most sought after superintendency in the commonwealth.
That s how George Fiore, the CCIU s executive director, described it during the Dec. 7 school board meeting at which he laid out his agency s plan for finding a replacement.
Choosing that replacement for Lloyd, who announced last month she will retire at the end of the school year in June, is the most important decision a school board will make, said Fiore.
The board has already decided to undertake a national search for a new superintendent and Fiore promised it would be thorough, and quick.
