The Columbus Dispatch Natural gas has driven emissions down In a letter last Tuesday ( Don t jettison nuke plants prematurely ), Dr. Aparna Bole and Dr. William Hardie advocated against the use of natural gas for Ohio’s energy needs, citing the impact of air pollution on the health of Ohioans. However, their advocacy against the use of natural gas to power our homes and businesses is without merit. Natural gas has a proven track record as the leading source of emissions reductions. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the widespread adoption of natural gas as a primary source of energy is responsible for 61% of U.S. emission reductions between 2005 and 2019.

Sean O Brien, who lost re-election bids in November, are among 31 applicants for a seat on a panel that regulates utilities in Ohio. French, O Brien and others are vying for a spot vacated last month by Public Utilities Commission of Ohio Chairman Sam Randazzo. Randazzo resigned after the FBI searched his Columbus house and Akron-based FirstEnergy Corp. disclosed a $4 million payment was made to an entity meeting the description of one owned by Randazzo as part of its internal investigation into the House Bill 6 bribery scandal.
