Four arrested for allegedly instigating conflicts between farmers, herders
Deadly clashes between farmers and herders is one of the security challenges in several states in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested at least 40 crime suspects in Edo this year including those who have ‘instigated’ crisis between herders and farmers.
The Commandant of the corps in the state, George Edem, told reporters on Monday in Benin City that those arrested were suspected to have engaged in illegal mining or vandalism of national assets.
Others were arrested on suspicion of their involvement in farmers-herders conflicts, armed robbery or impersonation, he said.

Official: More than 50 cases of farmer-herder crisis resolved in Edo

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Edo State said no fewer than 38 suspects have been arrested for various crimes in the state, in the last 10 weeks.
The state’s Commandant of the corps, George Edem, disclosed this on Friday in Benin, while speaking on the achievement of the command during the period under review.
Edem explained that the suspects were arrested for various criminal offences, ranging from illegal mining, vandalisation of critical national assets, conflicts between farmers and herders, to armed robbery.
He also stated that the command, during the period under review, also resolved more than 50 cases between farmers and herders across the state.
