Warren City Attorney Ethan Vinson announced in a press release Oct. 24 that complaints were filed against Mai Xiong as well as four members of the Warren City Council with the Michigan Secretary of State last week.
For the first time in 16 years, Warren residents will elect a new mayor as Mayor James Fouts, who has served in that capacity since 2007, is not on the Nov. 7 ballot.
The U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals denied a request from Warren Mayor James Fouts to expedite review of his lawsuit, originally filed in August, that sought to add him to the ballot and alleged violation of his civil rights.
