CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa â A former teacher and coach who spent three decades working with students at Defense Department schools on Okinawa, in South Korea and in the Philippines has died at age 73.
William Mierzejewski, better known as âCoach Bill,â died Thursday at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper after a three-month bout with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
âHe was passionate about everything,â said Lori Johnson, a 1992 graduate of the now-shuttered Seoul American High School at Yongsan Garrison. âHe had an impact on so many. There was a life lesson to be learned in everything he taught.â
