Article content Norm Giffen and George Danic were good buddies when they attended Strathroy District Collegiate Institute from 1946 to 1951. They had lots of fun both in, and mostly out, of class. So it was only natural that they would tape-record many of their youthful exploits when given the chance at a school reunion held at the old Kittridge Avenue site in 2000. Hunched over an old ‘shoebox’ cassette recorder in a library study carrel these two “Old Boys” could hardly stop laughing while speaking into the mic. “There was a big garden for the agricultural classes by the Boy’s entrance on Head Street,” recalled George. “The school raised chickens and we’d have to take care of them on the weekends. The most important things we learned were to not break the eggs and to not eat all of the honey from the hives.”
