A pretty Iconic Detroit music does center around motown. Interestingly, motown is the middle of the story. A part of all the stories, of the other genres of music. Plays a big role in the sound of detroit. It is known for motown, but known around the world worse for some of these other areas as well. This is starting around the 1920s and into the 30s. Detroit was becoming the automotive epicenter. Before that detroit was a major manufacturing city. They were famous for ovens and even cigars and things like that.
