WASHINGTON The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol will make criminal referrals to the Justice Department as it wraps up its probe and looks to publish a final report by the end of the year, the panel s chairman said Tuesday.
A federal special counsel has subpoenaed Dane and Milwaukee counties for communications with former President Trump, his campaign and his allies as part of a criminal investigation.
Local election officials in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona are being asked to submit communications they had with the former president following his effort to overturn the 2020 election.
