Veteran Journalist Kwadwo Agyenim-Boateng is set to represent the Bono Region on the Council of State. The 77-year-old won the Council of State elections with 15 out of 24 votes to win the slot. His competitors former Education, Director Dr George Adjei Henne, polled 5 votes and Paramount Chief of the Drobo traditional area, Okokyeredom Sakyi Ako II, had 3 votes. A teacher, Dominic Adu-Gyimah and an Agronomist, Kwabena Boahen, who were also contesting had zero votes. There was one rejected ballot. In his interaction with the media, Mr Agyenim-Boateng said the Bono Region is one of the “food baskets” of the country. Because of that, he is hoping to talk to the President as a member of the Council of State to ensure more factories are built in the region to preserve food for the country.
