Suspect commits suicide inside Kagadi police cells

A suspect has allegedly committed suicide inside Isunga Central police station cells in Kagadi district, western Uganda.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson identified the suspect as Geoffrey Matala, a mechanic and a resident of Kisegya village in Isunga sub-county, Kagadi. The incident happened on Saturday night. Matala had been arrested recently for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
Hakiza says Matala s body was found dangling in the police cells. According to Hakiza, Matala used a piece of blanket to commit suicide.
