Council considering future of Woodbridge s Shire Hall

Woodbridge Town Council is exploring its options for the future A Suffolk town council is exploring options for its Grade I listed offices.  Woodbridge Town Council has begun considering the future of the town s Shire Hall, where the authority is based and holds its regular meetings.  The building was built by Thomas Seckford in around 1575.  Over the years it has served a number of purposes, including as a corn exchange with the upper area used for judicial work.  It was bought by Woodbridge Town Council in 1987 and is still used by the council as well as being hired out for event use. The upstairs area of the building is rented by the Seckford Foundation.
