Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That’s dangerous and often tragic. That’s why the Ste. Genevieve Community Services Forum has arranged a free drive-thru Drug Take Back event on May 1, from 9 am to 12 pm, at Ste. Genevieve Fire Department.
This event enables individuals to dispose of their unwanted or expired drugs safely, conveniently, and anonymously. Doing so helps reduce the risk of accidental poisoning, misuse, and overdose through pharmaceuticals. In addition to saving lives, proper disposal of drugs plays an important part in protecting the environment.
Prescription and over-the-counter medications are accepted in pill or liquid form. Also acceptable are pet medicines, EpiPens, and needles.
