In the lower chamber, they hold a 222-212 majority, with Republicans still likely to secure one more uncalled seat. Functionally, it’s 219-212 until three Democrats are chosen to replace the three Joe Biden picked off to serve in his administration. A bare majority is 218. In the Senate, Democrats cling to a 50-50+1 majority. But that doesn’t mean they’re going to pursue a 50/50 agenda of moderation. Let s start here: The man behind the Dec. 25 bombing in downtown Nashville, Tenn., died of COVID-19, according to a popular and wrong Facebook post. Fake CNN headline The post displays a headline from a fabricated story by the Genesius Times, a satirical news website, that reads: BREAKING: Nashville Bomber died from COVID-19 shortly after blowing himself up.

This reality was once again driven home last week with Biden’s insistence regarding the criminal investigation into his son: “I have, we have, great confidence in our son. I’m not concerned about any accusations that have been made against him.” Biden then passed off the criminal investigation as “kind of foul play.” The obvious issue for the Trump administration is whether it can truly trust that Biden would remain uninvolved in the years-long FBI investigation into his son’s shady business dealings.
