very much. so i want to go now to the former u.s. ambassador to the russian federation john sullivan. and the russian investigative journalist whose site has been blocked in russia. and the retired u.s. army brigadier peter zwack. so thanks very much to all of you. ambassador, let me start with you with what fred was saying. if surovikin has indeed been detained and they hadn t seen him since friday. his wife says he hasn t come home from work yet today. what will happen to him, ambassador? well, if he s been detained because he was involved in what the russians are calling this mutiny, that s not going to lead to very good things for the general. recall that this is a general who as a junior officer was involved in the coup in 1991 against gorbachev. so he s been a political actor
taking it like in his hands when he was a belarusian. i don t see what is in it for him. he struck some kind of a deal to call off his troops that had momentum. they were heading for moscow, apparently had moscow in a panic. again, matt bradley makes the good point that we do not know where president putin is. he s probably not in moscow. we remember where president zelenskyy was when the russians came forward on his border, on the outskirts of kyiv. president putin was not in moscow, in all likelihood. so, there is that question, but what happens to prigozhin when he goes to belarus? right. there have been people who have not fared well when they have crossed president putin. right, general zwack, the other big question militarily, at least to me is, if the wagner group was among the stronger of the russian assets, what, then, does the dissolution of the wagner group mean militarily for russia and
