Gov. Greg Gianforte held a press conference Thursday to provide an update on the state s vaccine roll-out and announce that Montana has become a national leader in distribution efficiency. Based on data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Gianforte said, 93 percent of vaccine doses sent to Montana have found their way into the arms of state residents, the best rate in the U.S. He thanked the state s health care workers for their efforts and called them heroes. Gianforte calls on Biden to increase Montana vaccine allocation

Gov. Greg Gianforte said the state s vaccination rollout is going well despite being held back by the allocation size of the federal government. At a press conference last Friday Gianforte said nearly 100,000 vaccines had been administered in the state and a almost 25,000 people have been fully immunized. He said this is good news but the current allocation from the federal government is insufficient, being one of the lowest allocations per capita among the 50 states. He said he believes Montana deserves a larger allocation by virtue of its effective vaccine rollout when compared to othe.
HELENA, Mont. - An update on Montanaâs distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine was given Friday, with Governor Greg Gianforte, State Medical Officer Greg Holzman and General Matthew Quinn speaking.
It was announced that at this time, Montana ranks 7th in the nation in distributing the COVID-19 vaccine, however, the state is 45th out of 50 in the number of vaccines sent per capita.Â
According to Holzman, next week Montana will be allocated 15,625 first doses, and 6,300 second doses, which is an increase from the previous week.
âWe are making progress, but we need a greater supply of vaccine from the federal government,â Gianforte said.

At a press conference in Helena on Friday, Governor Greg Gianforte, along with State Health Officer Dr. Greg Holzman and General Matthew Quinn, Commander of the Montana COVID 19 Task Force, addressed the issue of a lack of vaccine to battle the pandemic.
On a positive note, Gianforte said the state had reached a milestone in vaccinations.
“Today we are approaching a milestone, with nearly 100,000 vaccines administered here in the state, and nearly 25,000 Montanans who have been fully immunized,” said Governor Gianforte. “In fact, Montana ranks seventh in the nation in getting shots in the arms of citizens. That s great news, considering we are a larger state than all the states ahead of us in terms of geography.”
