The Armed Forces of Nigeria and their Tanzanian counterparts have agreed to deepen defence collaboration to address the contemporary security challenges bedeviling both countries.
A press release by the Acting Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu on Tuesday said this was the subject of discussion when participants of the 9th intake 2020/2021 of the Tanzanian National Defence College (TNDC) visited the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Abuja.
He said the visitors where received on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, by the Director of Policy, DHQ, Major General Mainasara Masanawa.

The Federal Government, Thursday, disclosed establishing a facility key in a solid mineral analysis called Fire Assay Laboratory to determine the content of gold, silver, and platinum.
This was made known by the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc Olamilekan Adebite, in a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister, Ayodeji Adeyemi.
Olamilekan explained that the Buhari-led administration embarked on the Fire Assay Laboratory project because it is a crucial analytical infrastructure needed in the mining sector to accurately determine the concentrates of precious metals in ore.

The Federal Government, Friday, charged the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science, NIAS, on proffering solutions to the incessant herders/farmers conflict threatening food availability, affordability, and security.
The charge was given by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohammed Nanono, at the inauguration of the 5th Council of NIAS in Abuja.
According to Nanono, the Prof. Abubakar-led Council is replete with men and women of quality to serve as a driving force and motivation to the management of the Institute to consolidate on the achievements of the past, and continue to deliver on the mandates of the Institute to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the agenda of the government on food security.
