The Defence Headquarters (DHQ), on Tuesday, said that in the renewed efforts to end insurgency activities in the country by the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), the Troops of Operation Accord operating in the North-West have neutralised two armed bandits along Sabon-Iche-Kagarko road in Kaduna State.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the Coordinator Defence Media Operations (DMO), Major General John Enenche.
Gen Enenche explained that the gallant troops successfully executed the operation, on Monday, following actionable and credible intelligence on the movement of bandits in that area.
He stated that during the encounter, the two bandits were eliminated while others fled with gunshot wounds inflicted on them.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) on Friday said that in continuation of the aggressive clearance operation to stamp out banditry and other sundry crimes in the North-West zone of the country, the troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI have rescued seven kidnapped victims in Zamfara State.

He said that the gallant troops carried out the rescue operation on Thursday while on routine patrol around Gidan Dan Nunu and Dutsi villages of Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State when made contact was made with bandits.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) on Tuesday said that the troops of the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have destroyed hideouts of insurgents and neutralized several bandits at the ‘S’ Region in the heart of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State.

Gen Eneche stated that the Operation was carried out on Monday in the air interdiction missions being conducted by the Air Task Force in the North East on the terrorist elements in the region.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) on Thursday explained that the rescue of the abducted schoolboys of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State by the military was achieved by the use of unarmed combat tactics and display of high professionalism by the gallant troops who carried out the rescue operation.
The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations (DMO), Major General John Enenche stated this in Abuja while updating Defence Correspondents on the military operations in the six geo-political zones towards ending insurgency activities in the country.
