TRAINS are scheduled to run again from Caernarfon and Porthmadog on the Welsh Highland and Festiniog heritage railways. Services will start on Saturday May 1. The Welsh Highland Railway will run its Gelert Explorer specials between Caernarfon and Bedgellert and the Festiniog Railway will run its Mountain Prince specials from Porthmadog to Tan-y-Bwlch and beyond to Dduallt. One of the first trains to leave Porthmadog after the lockdown last year was lifted.
