State BJP president Babulal Marandi has announced that the party will decide the candidates for the Lok Sabha polls after consulting with its alliance partners. The BJP aims to win all 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state and regain the two seats it lost in the 2019 general elections. The names of the candidates will be announced after discussions with the alliance parties in the state.

The Gua Iron Ore Mines, operating under the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), are currently embroiled in a controversy surrounding the recruitment of 13 employees from other states. Locals including those displaced from Gua mines, labour organisations and political parties have been protesting since January 2 against the recruitment.
