New four-year blueprint released

The City’s draft Our Community Plan 2021-25 has been released for public feedback. Our Community Plan is a new blueprint developed with the community to set strategic priorities for sustainable growth and development, a strong local economy, a healthy, caring and inclusive community, backed by a high-performing Council and organisation. The release of the plan coincides with the publication of the Proposed Budget 2021-25, which is also being shared for community feedback. Our Community Plan 2021-25 will direct decisions about policy, programs and resources and for the first time incorporates the Council’s commitments in its municipal public health and wellbeing plan directly alongside strategic planning.

Shortest fix – the shortest fix took just three seconds. A man brought in a chainsaw and wasn’t aware that it had a safety lock on it. Longest fix: the longest fix was a TV that took three hours. Our volunteers have incredible persistence, and this one refused to let the TV defeat him. By the end there were a few of them working on it and together they managed to fix it.

Date Time Civic Precinct explores Central Geelong’s past and future for Geelong Design Week Discover the hidden connection between Cunningham Pier and Geelong’s new Civic Precinct in a Geelong Design Week event exploring the fascinating past of the precinct and surrounding area. The event is one of two that will explore the history and future plans for the site at 137 Mercer Street, which will include 2,600 square metres of new community space and the City’s new centralised offices once completed in 2022. The second event will focus on the urban design of the precinct’s new community space. Hosted by the City of Greater Geelong and Quintessential Equity, the two free events offer participants the opportunity to hear from a panel of historians, architects and urban designers, and contribute their own ideas on future uses for two sites adjoining the Civic Precinct.
