Downing Street has vetoed the reappointment of half of the female members of Channel 4’s board of directors.
Despite recommendations to renew for another three years the boardroom positions of Uzma Hasan, a producer and co-founder of Little House Productions, and Fru Hazlitt, who runs a social media company and is a former managing director at ITV, Yahoo and GCap Media, ministers decided to seek fresh candidates.
