KOCHI: The state transport department’s order to transfer a joint regional transport officer of the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) for allegedly keeping his office doors closed in the afternoon has sparked a controversy with the department’s Gazetted Officers Association coming down against the order.
As per the order issued by Transport Secretary Biju Prabhakar, C U Mujeeb, Joint RTO of Perinthalmanna, created a situation of denying service to the public by keeping his office doors closed in the afternoon. VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam unit of AP Non-Gazetted Officers Association (APNGOA) has informed the State Election Commission (SEC) that all government employees in Andhra Pradesh will not be in a position to conduct panchayat elections in view of the massive Covid-19 vaccination programme being undertaken by state government.

VIJAYAWADA: The State government on Saturday moved a house motion petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court challenging the State Election Commissioner releasing the schedule for panchayat elections and sought a stay on the election proceedings. The High Court will take up the petition for hearing on Monday. On Friday, State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar had released the schedule for panchayat elections. According to the SEC, the election process will commence on January 23. The elections will be held in four phases from February 5 to 17.
