The man went fishing about 3pm in Gayundah Creek, in the Hinchinbrook Island area. He was expected to return about an hour later.

A fisherman has been missing since Thursday afternoon in central Queensland, with his upturned boat found early Friday morning.

Crocodiles could have eaten a missing fisherman

The 69-year-old man went fishing around 3pm in Gayundah Creek, northern Queensland on Thursday and never returned. His wife raised the alarm that night and police commenced their search. They later found his overturned boat.  Police (pictured) are looking for a 69-year-old man after his upturned boat was found along a creek line Police are considering all possibilities that could have led to his disappearance, including a crocodile (pictured) attack SES, Coast Guard, local fishermen and the Queensland Department of Environment and Science have also been searching for him in the mangroves.  Cairns police Acting Inspector Andrew Cowie said they are considering all possibilities that could have led to his disappearance, including a crocodile attack.
