I always knew I was female, from an early age. Never more so than when I went to primary school, an all-boys school with me, a little Transgender Girl, in among the chaos of the boys in the 1970s and 1980s when even being gay was outlawed and ridiculed. I spent six long years being beaten and bullied by students and teachers alike, day-in, day-out without fail. I was left depleted and in the end destroyed. I dug down deep to try and hide myself, Rachel.
I found it hard to learn so I taught myself how to read and write at home. I was scared mentally and still am physically.
transfolk, gay folk, everybody, so many people who are a part of this consequence of this rhetoric so in this moment he declines to speak to iowans by saying that he had nothing to do with that ideology of white nationalism. we have to be clear about this. this tweet was about transphobia to legitimize white nationalism and using a bathrooms of literally spitting on the graves of people who laid down thooeb their lives, eventually forming of slaves might be 83. that s what this is about this congressman needs to be called out. we need to be clear about this. he may be a well meant racist. he is no yet a racist.
pick the group, trans folk, gay folk, everybody i should say so many people who are part of this republic of being otherwise and excluded as a consequence of this rhetoric. so in this moment he declines to take responsibility. in this moment he declines to speak to all iowans and all americans by saying, you know, that he has nothing to do with that kind that ideology of white nationalism. because we ve got to be clear about this. this tweet was about using transphobia to legitimize white nationalism. okay? and using bathrooms as a way of literally spitting on the grave of people who laid down their lives so that eventually 4 million slaves might be freed. that s what this is about. and so this congressman needs to be called out. we need to be very clear about this. we may have been a well-mannered racist but he is no less a racist. cornell william brooks.
