VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA Twenty meters into a 55 meter race on Sunday at The VA Showcase, Udodi Onwuzurike started to roll.
But while the Brother Rice (MI) High School senior did not have the greatest of starts, he certainly made sure to finish, leaning past Run U Express Terrell Robinson at the line to win in a new personal best effort of 6.25 seconds.
The performance, a new US No. 1, was nine-hundredths of a second faster than his prelimary of 6.34 on Saturday.
Robinson was second in 6.26 seconds, while Laurenz Colbert was third in 6.35, Gavin Schurr was fourth in 6.36 and Nyckoles Harbor was fifth in 6.37.
