Street cleaner left with gaping head wound after horrific attack A STREET cleaner has been left with a gaping head wound after a horrific attack, which police have described as unprovoked. The victim had been carrying out his duties along Glasgow Road in Paisley on Sunday at 1.30pm before he was pounced on by a thug. The victim sustained a serious head injury after the brutal attack. Detectives are appealing to the public for any information surrounding the incident as extensive inquiries are being carried out. The suspect is described as white, in his late 30s to early 40s, around 6ft tall, well built, clean-shaven. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a blue jacket, baseball cap and possibly carrying a backpack.

A man working as a street cleaner has been subjected to what police have described as a “horrific and completely unprovoked assault” in Renfrewshire.
The 49-year-old was working for the local authority, near the Renfrewshire Valuation Joint Board in Paisley, around 1.30pm on Sunday when he was attacked.
He suffered a head injury which required treatment at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
The suspect is described as white, late 30s to early 40s, around 6ft, well-built and clean-shaven.
