Gauhati University students’ union, said, We need a government, which understands its responsibilities towards the greater Assamese community . GUWAHATI: A people’s government, which listens to the people and works for the people is what students of various universities are looking forward to this election. During a conversation with TOI, they appealed to the people of the state to establish a pro-Assam government this time, which can provide a constitutional safeguard to the state and its people. Parshaw Patgiri, general secretary of the Gauhati University students’ union, said, “We need a government, which understands its responsibilities towards the greater Assamese community. The present government does not want to listen to the people. They did everything according to their wish. In a democracy, you need to listen to the people.”
